Shuhei Akahoshi, Managing Director at Kyoto City Tourism Association, is joining X. Festival to present some relevant insights and findings, as a result of the recent DMO's digital transformation. The city of Kyoto positions themselves as a destination that enriches the lives of people from both Japan and abroad through tourism and unique experiences. Furthermore, the DMO supports the sustainable development of the regional economy and local community, while backing Kyoto’s tourism industry and, at the same time, contributes to the promotion of the arts and culture, and the advancement of international exchange.

The main goals are to promote the incredible offer of the city year-round, create content that truly conveys the message of the brand and support the travellers throughout the entire visitor journey. Having to exist in a competitive market, Kyoto has established its major strength in the creation of a brand that strictly mirrors the strong bond with the most authentic Japanese culture and tradition, to provide travellers with a genuine taste of Japan, that is rooted in nature and people.
